Dear Parents/Carers,
Firstly, I hope you are enjoying the season. I think you will agree that the teams have definitely improved, with all three league teams enjoying some excellent wins. As of the 28th October, the Under 6s will be rejuvenated from 1-2pm on the green, so please get the message around and let's see if we can't get our next generation of footballers coming through.
I have been allocated 53 tickets for Charlton Athletic V Aston Villa, at the Valley on the 30th December, kick off 12.45. If we fill the places Charlton will lay on a coach to pick us up from and drop us back at Northchapel School. The cost will be £15 a head, which is an absolute bargain. This will be an ideal chance for the children and families to watch Premiership football as guests of a Premiership club. I have already filled 29 places so please if you want to come let me know, but only if you are 100% sure. Cheques should be made payable to Northchapel Junior FC and will need to be with me by 30th November at the very latest.
We are still collecting Tesco Sports for Schools vouchers and at present have 1500. Last year we had 2000 and purchased lots of balls and other nick-nacks. Please keep collecting and let me have them ASAP. Little clubs like Northchapel rely on things like this as it saves us loads of money for equipment.
Our wet tops are at the printing stage now (at last), and we should be able to let the children have them soon I will let you know how we are going to do this when they arrive. It's been a a long haul and not at all smooth but we are getting there.
Please keep supporting us, it is very much appreciated.

Dear Parents/Carers,
The season is nearly here and once again we have a few changes to report. Firstly we have had, due to lack of numbers in both squads, to merge the under 9s and 10s. It seemed to make more sense to do this rather than having two squads of 7 players. This way there is about 14 players who will all get a game every week. Another positive is that we have welcomed Russell Lowman, a very good footballer and coach. He was originally going to run the under 9s, but will now co-manage the under 10s with Stuart. As I have found in the under 11s, and Phil and Andrew in the under 8s, two heads are far better than one. Next season he will then stay with the younger players and run them as the under 10s again. It should be a really exciting time for us as a club.
Fees have been changed as well. We are now charging ALL children that play in any age group £25 a season, with any siblings £10. We are not charging subs at all. This makes it by far the cheapest football probably in Sussex. The average cost of playing for a youth team locally is £50 to sign on and £2-3 a week in subs each game. I think you will agree its good value for money.
We are once again collecting the Tesco sports eqpt. For Schools and clubs vouchers, last year we collected over 2000, and were able to get lots of different bits and bobs. They really are worth collecting, so when the cashier asks if you are collecting, please say yes and pass them on to me or any of the coaches.
We are in the throng of re-vamping the pavilion too, you may notice the new roof now, as well as the new shed and the inside is going to be totally re-vamped too. We may at times ask for help in man power, but we will let you know as and when.
We also have been granted use of the Working mens club after games, provided that all children are kept under control. This is a nice opportunity for ourselves and the opposition to get together at the end of the game and chat and mix over a drink and a packet of crisps.
Finally we have a form for you to fill in, and give to coaches or myself with the fees as soon as possible. Cheques should be made out to “Northchapel Junior Football Club”. I have added e mail address details, as I will send any letters etc. to you by email, but if you don’t have email, don’t fret, I will still use paper where necessary.
Here's hoping we have another good season and continue to grow as rapidly as we are.
Yours Sincerely

Dear Parents,
I am writing this after yet another successful tournament. The feed back has been amazing, and many people have said it was the best tournament they had ever been to. We were amazed at the turn out of people on the green, it is for sure the biggest event the village holds now, so we can now see, we as a club have moved forward. We raised around £1500 which is phenomenal, so thanks to the small core of parents and other adults who helped so tirelessly throughout the two days, you did yourselves and your children proud.
With the money we hope to purchase two new 11-a-side goals, wet tops for all the league players and coaches, some mini soccer goals, and numerous little bits of equipment. We also have pledged to buy a BBQ for the pavilion.
We are entering an extra league team next season, so will have under 8s, 9s, 10s and 11s as well as the littlies which we hope will be carrying on as normal. We also have enlisted the help of Russell Loman, who will be helping with the running of next years under 9s. Training for the new season will be staggered in starting, as the under 11s have to learn offside and will start considerably earlier than the rest with some summer friendlies on the cards. More on next season at a later date.
On June 10th at 10.30 we will be holding our presentation for all children in all age groups. There will be parents against kids in each age group, a BBQ, a raffle (prizes will be welcomed) and a presentation of medals and individual awards. Please dust off your footy boots, and be prepared for a good laugh. Any offers of a stint on the BBQ will be welcomed but won't excuse you from playing against your children. So hope to see you there.
Finally from us all a heartfelt thanks, and a big well done to all involved in the club this year, we are now on the map in the true sense of the word. We can all be proud of what we have done this year as parents, coaches and players.
Yours sincerely

Dear Parents/Carers,
Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday we were out every Saturday morning, kicking a ball about.
We are intending to start again on Saturday August 20th, at 10.30am. This will be in the form of a bit of fitness training, just to get the children, warm and supple after their break.
This year we start the big new adventure in the league, so reliability on a Saturday morning is very important as if we do not take at least 9 children to matches we face a league fine, of which we do not want many. There will be games on most Saturdays from start of the league in mid September.
We are also allowed to use the club this year after matches on the green, this means that parents and children of both sides will be able to go into the club where lunch and drinks can be purchased, the club has asked me to mention though, that children are kept under control on the premises at all times.
Another exciting development is that we now have 3 kit sponsors so every age group will now have a new kit. They are Martlet homes, Falcon Fabrics and Northchapel Working Men's Club. So as you can see, this is an exciting start in lots of ways.
As a requirement of the Horsham Youth league and the Sussex FA, we have to put together codes of conduct for players, parents and managers to sign. This as much as anything, helps maintain a friendly, sporting atmosphere on a Saturday morning, although I can say hand on heart, we have the best set of parents, children and helpers I have certainly ever worked with, and I know we will have a great chance of winning the sportsmanship trophy this year. I have attached these with this letter for you to peruse, and sign. I will go through the children's one with them as well as making sure that the managers one is discussed and signed in front of them too. If there is anything that you wish to discuss please do not hesitate to talk to myself, Stuart, Phil or Andrew. But it is all just common sense stuff really, but we have to do these things as the league side we now are.
One thing we do have to change though is that the fee to join this year will be £15 for the season, £5 signing on fee, £5 insurance and £5 sports club. We will then charge £1 subs per game, to put into the club. When you consider in Horsham teams charge up to £50 a season plus subs, it not bad value for money. I alone have paid £35 each for my 2 older boys to play for their respective teams this year. The 4 and 5 year old group, only need pay £10 for the whole year.
Also the 4 & 5 year old group will be trained by Dan & Josh Warren and Doug Williams, to enable the "littlies" to be able to train, enjoy and mature, so that they too can embark on the league adventure in the future. They will start in September, so watch this space.
Finally once the league starts, we will have to train of an afternoon in the week, but I will discuss with you, the best afternoons and go with the majority, although obviously Fridays will be best passed on.
Lets hope the season is as exciting as it promises to be, and its an exciting adventure we are now starting.
Yours Sincerely
ED WARREN
